Well this year has been really hectic here at Big E Farms. The last time you saw us was when we cut some wheat that didnt do to well. Since then we have sprayed, planted cotton and planted wheat and put away the combines for another year. This journal will cover since that harvest up to now.
Cotton planting went as planned this year. The new 24 row planter really impressed us. We didnt really think our tractor situation out to well when we had the 8330 up north on the grain cart when we needed it back here at home to pull the planter.
Also the sprayer got a little work done this year spraying off volunteer wheat.
(current day) We have been hauling out the rest of the seed wheat in the bins because this year we are trying a new variety of wheat. OK Bullet.
Then our newly accquired 1980s KW shows up with a load of seed wheat.
Then the 9630 came back in from plow duty. We have most of our wheat planted but with the recent rains we have not been able to keep everything nice and clean therefore we have had to change out the air seeder with the plow.
Then since cotton is only maybe a week away from being ready we decided it was time to pull out the big 625.
Then the 9630 gets ready to plant some more wheat.
Quick fill-up and were ready to roll.
At the recently plowed field and rolling.
The planted field.
Now were folding up and heading back home.
We still have a little bit more to plant for some other people.
Now were are heading over to some friends house for Thanksgiving.
In the future we are planning on upgrading our truck fleet and we are also looking at another 9630 and a pair of 8295Rs. We will have to wait and see. Also cotton harvest will start in the next week or so.
P.S. Big E Farms has not fell off the face of the earth. I have just been slammed with school, homework, and farming that i have not had the chance to do a journal. Iam sorry if have dial-up and tried to look at this.
Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoyed this journal. Have a happy Thanksgiving
