all the SP windrowers have had interchangable mower and haybine heads. this one should too. would be dumb if it didnt.

I will be more happy with a disc mower on the front of the JD when it comes out. Or a regular mower conditioner type header. The draper I have little use for it. I really want a disc up front. A disc can really out mow a reel type.

i still think there are some advantages of a reel over a mower.

i still think there are some advantages of a reel over a mower. There could be, but not in speed. Most of our guys around here has converted over. Only ones hadn't yet is due to their mower isn't worn out yet. Or $$ to upgrade. However the larger farms who has the $$ has. I perfer mowing with a disc. So much faster.

From my experience disk mowers will really move. They have more capacity than a sickle head. They tend to be high maintenance though. The one I was around went through blades and turtle shells on a regular basis.

The SP mower looks neat, & I'm sure the real one's cost a mint. For the time being, I'll stay with my 2 pull-type Hesston's, though. EVK
