Well it has turned cold here in Kansas. Some of the coldest weather we have has in a lot of years. It makes hauling water and taking care of the cattle a challenge. We have been staying busy working in the shop. We have the 9530's serviced and washed up now. We also had the Ag Chem dry spreader in for some work. We will be top dressing wheat before long. Our crop care business partner Johnson Ag is already putting some on.
They are now put away for the winter. The big shed looks a lot different than it did last winter.
This was last winter. See if you can spot the differences.
We had some ice this week so we weren't able to move a batch of cows that we need to. So we are having to feed them. I took them a couple of bales with the old Dodge.
Toward the end of the week the shop got busy again. The block heater went out on the new Mack. Never fails when it is crazy cold that a block heater goes out. So it is in getting that replaced. The old IH truck was hauling cattle and started blowing oil out of the driver side stack. It had lost a turbo. Luckily we caught it soon enough that it didn't run out of oil or start sucking oil and run away. So it is in to get a new turbo put on the driver side and service it.(It is an 8v92 Detroit with dual turbos) He is also going to run the overheads on it while it is in. The grinder needed to have a splice replaced on the conveyor because it was starting to tear. Plus the blue Pete was in for a service. It caused a mess because of the icy and slushy roads it had about a 1000 pounds of ice on it which turned the shop into lake Minkler. ;D
Well that is all for now. Questions and comments welcome.
