Hey thanks for posting those pictures, now I can go after the man that made them. If you notice the [TM] after my buisness name that means my toys are trade mark protected. Which means if you make something that I have already made, I can file a law suit against you. I usually don't say anything but I have been building Byrons since 1986 and this is one of the worst ones I have ever seen. i know the guys name that built this if I see him continue making these things i will be after him.

Really wow? I knew your customs were trade marked, but didn't know it was that seriouse that if it was something that you built you could file a law suit. I can see if it was exactly the same thing but I can also see that yes you built those first. What about like your baggers, dump carts and lagoon pumps Scratch Cast and other companies have simular items. In my opinon it doesn't seem that bad, and others seem to like it. Maybe this is why that gentlemen wasn't at Nationals this year?

Hi Anthony yes if you get your name trade marked you can do alot of things. As for Scratch Cast Brian and I work together so I have no problem with them. But when someone comes out of the blue and makes something that doesn't even look like a Byron and he calls it a Byron that makes we want to put an end to his byron before it ruins my work.

gordy, do you have exclusive rights to build the byron pickers? i am just wondering how it all works. i found this on toy tractor show and was curious. "C&D Models has the exclusive license from Byron to produce the 1/64 8400 Byron Sweet Corn Picker and the 1514 Dump Cart." i am concerned about new guys with talent running into legal trouble. we have to have fresh blood to come into the hobby to keep it going and growing. i am a new scratch builder myself. just started last year. building from brass and copper. i sell a few to help offset the cost of my collecting. do i need to get rights to build my equipment? if i don't put a manufacturers name on it, am i ok? thank you Jon
