Since I STILL don't have my display set up, I'll just use some convenient pics, and make the story line "fit". This is a fairly small operation here, and still doesn't use a lot of "new" technology/equipment, so they make do with what they 've got, and/or can borrow. They recently found a deal on a Gleaner rotary, and are using it first time in their 2010 wheat crop. Wheat cuttin' is goin' full blast here.... As the Gleaner nears the end of the field, the 1566 pulls in with the borrowed Kinze. A neighbor owns this planter, and since he does only very limited double-cropping due to the normal So. Ill. late June thru July drought, they decided to try it out as a replacement for their worn no-till drill... Uh-oh, service truck to the rescue, seems the Kinze was "pinned-up" for transport, and now the ol' IH's hyds. ain't quite as good as they once were, they can't get it to raise enough to un-pin it... Ahhh but, not to worry, while the 6175 White stays on cart duty, they make a dash back home for the trusty ol' 3594 CIH.... Oh yeah, all hooked up and ready for some seed... And away we go... Welp, all for now...stay tuned ;D

Nice journal. Those old IHs didn't always have the best hydraulics. I worked on a few back when I was pulling wrenches.

I like the 3594 and 6175, sharp looking tractors.

Nice journal! I always enjoy seeing Gleaners out and about, nothing beats a Gleaner R in wheat. Thats also a nice looking 6175, i had my fair share of time running our old 6195 on grain cart and the 18 speed powershift in those tractors was pretty nice for that job.
