Kejr Farms JD Turbo 7700 Combine

Kejr Farms purchased a John Deere Turbo 7700 combine new in 1972. I was able to find a couple of pics that were taken when it arrived. Here is Grandpa showing it to one of the neighbors. Also in the picture is one of our JD 95s. The 7700 did not replace any of the 95s but was just added to the fleet. The 95s were used up through 1982-83. Comparatively, the 7700 is a monster. Kejr Farms would eventually come to have two 7700 combines running 24’ heads
I was also finally able to catch it in the field.
Here are some ‘studio’ shots of the combine. I built it from an ertl 7720. There are several modifications made to the casting and I think it turned out all right. I built a new bin, shortened the tail, scratch built the cab and the auger and made the decals. It also features steerable rear wheels. The rears are taken from a JD disk and the fronts are 30.5X32s. I also used a Moore’s feeder housing kit, chopper kit and rear steering kit. I used the interior from the donor 7720. I took the pictures with the paint being all shiny but the combine has since been dull coated and cab glass has been added. Its nice to have this combine done, it has been sitting for a year or so. I have plans to build another but I have no idea when. The head is just a scab head, I plan to built a 24’ wheat head for it.
