Thats too bad about the down corn. Do chopping corn heads really chop the stalks well? I've been curious about how they work. We put stalk stompers on our corn head.

Corn here is in the mid 20% moisture here right now, figured people will be harvesting by the end of September, usually its October when we start harvesting here.

Nice pics. I saw some corn getting picked down by Plainville today. They pretty much burnt up around there though.

Nice, people around here probably start around mid-late September. Which is about a mounth, mounth in a half ahead of shedule. This March was one of the first March's on record with no snow, so people got there crops in sper early. Any day know people while start combing soys. Good looking operation there.

In the 9330, you don't know your even pulling anything when you have a full load on. The 8650 pulls like a champ, I'd say it is one of the best-fitted grain cart tractors on our farm. Yesterday we really only needed one cart. The semis were the ones that were behind. Trey

Couple questions: is that a circular field for the irrigation, if not then do you harvest the corners at a different time, where do you get the water? Sorry for the dumb questions but we don't have irrigation where I live. Never really gotten how it works.

Sorry for the dumb questions but we don't have irrigation where I live. Never really gotten how it works. Corners are usually picked a month in advance, dryland corn always drys out quick. The middle of the field is where the well is located. If you are not familiar with some of the Great Plains, we have an underground resevoir underneath us that we pump our water out of. Yeah, it's expensive, but it's the difference between 200bu. corn and 35 bu. corn. Trey

My boss started shelling today. Corn here is around 14.5 moisture with some at 13. A lot lower than last year. but the corn crop is really down. A lot of holes in fields. i have heard guys around here saying they will be picking 170 bu corn and 85 bu corn all in the same field. its usually right around 190 bu/ acre here. treymo that is a sweet operation. how many trucks do you run to keep up?

People here are rushing to chop corn before it is too dry (it rushed up on us here) We havent had any rain in a few weeks. Everytime they call for rain it doesnt rain :/ My grandpa is expecting some of the large farms harvesting by the end of this week or early this week. Its dry.....very dry.

Running 3 semis with hopper bottoms right now. In Dryland, we were only using one. We'll have 4 going when we get into the swing of things. Trey
