Sounds like sorghum to me. It is a lot greener than normal for harvest here. Usually the milo has been killed by a freeze but we have just had a light freeze that burned the leaves a little here.

I dont know, its pretty late for milo to not be headed out, especially for irrigated, unless it double crop back behind wheat or something. I would think irrigated milo would be taller and at least headed out. We had to replant some and planted it a couple of days before wheat harvest and its all headed out and about ready to cut, and its dryland. Dont know what else it would be though.

I was thinking it was green and cut off. If it isn't headed by now it isn't going to make anything. You better get out the swather.

Maybe it's volunteer corn. I saw the same thing. Are you talking about around the Columbus area? I think it might be on I-65 or something like that.

Its got a Degelman Dozer and up above is the gps reciever. The hood is plastic so they had to make a frame for the magnetic reciever to mount on. I am guessing harvest is around half done in this area. Some of the milo won't dry down since it hasn't froze hard.

that pic of the volvo with the sunset behind it is one of the neatest pics ive seen in a long time. I wish it was blurry Id get it from you and blow it up and give it to the old man for xmas or something. I finished the field you were helpin us on today and moved to the next one and cut a sample and it was 18, so its goin to take a few days or a freeze. God I wish we could get this over with, Im tired of itchin and hackin up milo dust.
