Yes, we chisel most everything in the fall. Others also chisel plow wheat and soybean stubble and more are moving to disk rippers for corn stalks. We like to make sure everything that will be wheat and corn next year is worked. A couple of our farms that are in wheat/soybean rotations we will no till the beans into wheat stubble. Corn stalks we will plow them and hopefully I will have some pictures.

Yeah, we've been spoiled by this nice month of October. It's just going back to normal. I have next weekend off so it better be good by next Saturday.

On Sunday Dad said we are done for the season. This is the first time in a few years were the weather didn't force us to be done. Here are the last of my pictures of the season. Last of the chisel plowing. Thought I'd share a couple of views from the driver's seat. Out the front Out the back Looking out the side towards I 94. Finally we did some plowing. We plowed our corn stalks and had some wheat stubble that we spread manure on. The plow is a International 720 5 bottom 18 inch with auto reset. We bought it last year but did not have the opportunity to use it. My brother took theses pictures in the corn stalks. A couple of days later I was going to help plow, but the weather turned on us and it rained. In fact by the time Dad finished plowing it had rained almost two tenths of an inch. I had to dodge the rain to grab some pics. My brother did make a video of the 9700 plowing. Hopefully I'll have it up soon. That is it for this year. Thanks for looking.

Dang i wish i knew you guys were looking for a 6 row, still have ours from our L2, can't get rid of it. I'm gonna hijack my own thread and ask if you remember how fast did you drive? We were barely able to make 2-2.5 mph and sometimes slower. Any faster the header would plug up and stop. My brother thinks that the header doesn't run fast enough. He said the combine has the capacity to drive faster.

He said the combine has the capacity to drive faster. It seems like my father in law had trouble with his N6 corn head running fast enough. It seems like he had to change a drive pulley some where to speed things up. I know I have heard of this I just can't remember who was talking about it. It was on a Gleaner though.

There are two sprockets on the drive shafts, a slow speed and high speed. We are already on the high speed. I didn't get to see the head operate this year, my info is from my brother who was running it. I hope we can figure this out by next year as Dad is planning for a lot more corn.
