I am thinking about building one of these in 64 scale but I was wondering what they are typically used for, equipment wise?

I have seen people mount 3 point rippers on them so they can pull them behind a 4wd without 3 point. If I am thinking about the right thing that is.

That's what people use them around here for. I've also seen the ones that you mount a windrower on so you could pull it instead of having it on a 3 point.

I've seen them on Case IH and John Deere 3pt grain drills. Some of them even have coulters on them.

Typically used for an implement that attaches to a 3-pt I have seen pretty much anything hooked up to one.

we use ours for our ripper and anhydrous toolbar an awesomely handy yet affordable tool compared to adding 3pt to a bareback tractor

These can be used mainly for rippers and drills. Another way that they can be handy is when your trying to lift something heavier than the tractors 3pt can handle like a strip tiller. We used to have one with coulters on it and it was called a "No-till cart" made by Yetter. It was 15' with 7.5 inch spaced coulters which allowed us to put our 3pt Great Plains 15' drill on the back of it and make it a no-till drill. It worked pretty well but when we wanted a bigger drill we upgraded to a John Deere 20ft and extended the cart by 5 ft, the John Deere drill was definitely not meant for no till, but other than that the cart worked great and it would lift ANYTHING you put on it (including 300 gallons of fertilizer and a loaded 20ft drill) and if we hadn't have upgraded to a Sunflower no-till drill we would still have it. Thought i had a couple pictures of it but i guess I don't.
