Well my uncle finally sent me some of the pics he took during harvest. He is majorly into photography, thats why the pics are so clear. (trust me, I can't take very good photos!) Anyway, onto the pics. This one is taken halfway through a 110acre field of oats. I was driving the TR86 at the time but my little cousin is by the cab while my dad and uncle are re-fueling the TR97. This one I took while checking crops in the summer. This was the best looking canola in the area (the only stuff worth harvesting) OURS!! ;D Here we are unloading some canola with the 97 after the original unloader chain on the 86 snapped. Lastly, is both combines and the Preimer 2930 Turbo cutting in the back-round. My dad is on the swather, I'm on the 86 in the rear and my mom forced me off the 97 because it had air-conditioning. Hope you enjoyed.

That canola isn't as good as it looks. We got about 25-30bu/acre off it. But others in the area got 5 from their best field. But to the west of Winnipeg a guy averaged 60bu/acre over 4000 acres. Some fields averaged 75!!!!!

Thanks for the comments (some of you guys ) But anyways, canola is probably our best crop, other then oats. It's cheap to seed and fertilize and is a really good adition to a crop rotation as it's a broad leaf, which makes controlling wild oats ALOT easier. Dallas: we cut/combine side-by-side only on our red spring wheat and barley. The oats and canola and winter wheat is cut anywhere from acouple days till acouple weeks before we combine.

Dallas: it's even funner combining the dry, non-tangled stuff. Trey: we buy the combine that gets the cleanest sample, gets the most done, and has the most powerful engines to get through mud. We don't really care about colour... as long as it's yellow of course! But canola works better up here where it's abit wetter and cooler.

Now I will be very impressed if anybody can spot the big equipment difference between the last two pics. Hint: it's yellow.

Nope. But the 86 does have the red stripe while the 97 has a black one. I'll narrow it down again. Look at the pick-ups and the auger spout (the spout you can only see on the first pic) Now you should get it.

It's nitpicky I know, but there are two different TR97s. The one unloading canola is after we sent a rock through the ours and messed it all up, so the dealer rented us an older beat up rust bucket TR97 with that cheap little spout. (Used to belong to a hutterite colony, that used the one combine for 5000acres and bought it brand new way back when) The rented one also had the cheap pick-up on it instead of the Swathmaster.

Didn't germinate very well but ended up making some pretty good silage... There were a little over 2000 acres of Canola enrolled in Stafford and Barton Counties up until last year. Haven't seen alot lately.... Trey
