Dad looked at getting one when they started building one. We were just starting to do a little no-till. He found out that trash don't flow through them very well. Trey

These planters look like they're unstable and hard to unfold (at least to me). I'm glad we owned a Deere and White forward fold planters.

They were great planters at the time. They allowed 40-60' widths while still being narrow for transport. They had Deere units and kinze built frame then when kinze built their own units (identicle to deere) they put those on. But I think for the 70s as a conv. till planter they were the best money could buy

not really when you think about having a 12r 7000 deere or 12r IH that was an end pull or even worse, one that you had to have on a donahue trailer. When you think of that, un hooking then hooking back up, moving wheels and doing that when you leave AND get to a field vs a rear fold, they were no pain. They were all hydrualicly done except for latching them together on the back and even today you have safty pins and such. For 1975-the mid 80s they pioneered the planting business and had a wonderful thing going. Even today the 8-16r kinzes are the best for transport and twin row, 11' vs 16'...

Dad said the IH Cyclo Air 800 rear fold planters were a pain in the butt to fold. I still like the front folding planters (John Deere 7200, White 6180-8182) even though we ordered a Kinze 3600. It will be nice with the 12' transport width versus our White's 15' width.

lot of those didnt even come out till the 80s. Yes you will instantly fall inlove with that kinze. I hated our KPMIII and wanted to go back to the KPMII. So this year we got a Integra with independant row clutches and probably gonna go on and get autosteer for it and for the sprayer. Currently on our 3rd Kinze in the past 11 years.
