Minkler Ag has been applying fertilizer this week with the nice weather. Our trucks have been staying busy staying ahead of the rigs. We started off with our tender truck up at the fertilizer plant at Johnson Ag. Dad put on a load to take to Johnson's rig. They are just running one tender for their 2 rigs, so we help them out some. Here he is loading up.
He ran it out to their Ag chem spreader.
Almost done.
Now he is pulling back into the yard to reload. He had to wait for Johnson's tender to finish loading. He was taking a load out to their other rig.
Here Dad is loading the second load. Adam is pulling in with the old IH to get a load to take down to our farm to transfer down there.
Getting loaded up.
One of Minkler Farms Trucking's trucks pulled in with a load of urea to go back into the plant. Here he is weighing in.
Unloading at the fertilizer plant.
Here he is getting an empty weight. He is going to grab a load of corn out of Johnson's elevator for a back haul.
Loading corn. Johnson's have a pretty impressive grain facility.
Weighing back so he can head out. Got to get the corn hauled so he can get back with another load of fertilizer.
In the meantime James came up and got another semi load to take down to our place.
Dad met David in the yard and put a load on the FLX so he could get spreading again.
James brought his load down to get it transferred to the tender truck so it get it out to the other rig.
Here they are out at the other rig filling it up.
The heifers have also started to calve. We have about 20 on the ground. The cows will be coming home in about 2 weeks. Then we will be busy with feeding cattle and calving among the other chores. There is also snow in the forecast so we are spreading like crazy to beat the weather. That is all for now. Questions and comments welcome.
I have to thank 774630 for letting me come to his place and take pics for this journal.
