Here is some Big Blues I found around my area. And took some pics of. These are some Big Blues I really love. Ford 8000: This one is owned by my friend, Dennis. Who's part of his farm is used as my own display. Another Ford 8000 I found. Ford 9600: This is Dennis Ford 9600 sitting waiting to be taken into the shop for restoring. Another Ford 9600 I found. This one has the hood changed at some point. As its a 8000 hood. And lastly the Ford 9700. I found this at the Farm Auction a few years ago. I really love this beast. Its a rare find to see it with Canopy/Rops set up. As most you see of this model has a cab. I hope to see a new 64th toy done of this. I will try to work it over to make this version.

Nice fords. I'm more of a magnum fan, but those look good too.

Did some of the 8000/9000's come from the factory with the front axles turned around? or was it done after. Those Fords are reliable tractors, I've got a TW-20 which is my main tractor with just about 9500 hrs on it and have had very few troubles. It pulls 22 ft of drills and 30' of deep til cultivator, without a problem.

They did that by turning the front axle around backwards.

You could probably flip the front axle around yourself if you wanted to. I don't really see the purpose of it, it will just make a rougher ride. If you want to turn sharper, just stand on the brake harder ;D. Hey Steelin81, what is this deep till cultivator? We farm with a 9700. Our 9700 also has around 9500 hours; bought it in 2008 with 8800. It took the place of a TW 10 for the heavy tillage work. I do kinda wish a few years ago there was a very nice 8600 at one of our dealers. It didn't have a cab, but it could have been handy to have.

Mnjosh,I have a deep til and a vibra-shank. the deep til just has a heavier frame and shanks. and the vibra-shank is for light duty work like incorperating dry chemical or light cultivating. I agree with you about turning the axle, I find that my TW-20 turns sharp enough with the axle how it is.

I'm just surprised you can pull a 30ft and something that is heavier than it. We plan on making our 18 ft model 4500 a 22 ft and I think that will be a comfortable load for it. Or maybe I'm just underestimating the power of the 9700 ;D.

The size of cultivator a tractor will pull depends more on the type of land you have than the Hp of the tractor. My land is lighter and fairly flat, however a neighbor that I used to work for, only a mile away, had a few hills and had trouble in places with 35ft' of cultivator and an 8450 Deere 4wd.

True, but some like the turning radius or they wouldn't have it. I hadn't heard no complaints about Dennis with his 8000 like that. But each have their own thoughts. My 64th 8000 has the axle backwards to be like Dennis, and to give it a different look. I know John Deere offered axles like that. Where some put narrow fronts or wide fronts at the dealer or themselves. So there is no real record how many of those is out there. When it came to the New Generation Series.
