well I would go with a deere 7000 or 7200 8r then made out of the 12r. or make a 1760 front fold out of a 12r deere.

well a scratch build 8 row planter is basically the same for all types main differences are lift assembly, units, and markers. Easiest one to make would be a 1700 3-pt planter as the lift wheel assembly is pretty basic. www.deere.com/servlet/ProdCatProduct?tM=FR&pNbr=1700RH

If your going to have 1200 acres you should have a 16 row to run with an 8 row harvester. Our 8 row barely gets our crop in and we almost always have to have another farmer help out. Its best to have double your harvesting capacity in planting.

it could get 550 acres of corn in. on a given year: 550 corn 350 beans 300 wheat

8 row will work,if you have wet springs a 12 row would be better. Guess rows dont really matter anymore with how accurate planting is and GPS.

Ok how long is your "planting period"? here we have 2 months to plant corn and beans. we can get by with 1500 acres and a 8r

Then an 8 row would work

I row would work. We used to run 8 rows. You can plant 100 acres a day easy with an 8 row. I plant 200-210 a day with my 12 row.

i would go with a 12/23 kinze planter due to the fact that it can plant corn or beans, at our farm we run an 8r deere but i would still go with the kinze
