Hey everyone,
Just thought Id show a few pics of some truck projects I have done recently. I have found some of the more gratifying projects for me over that past year or so have been to re-do old ertl truck castings and add some details to them. First is a old harvest crew built from ertl transtar 2 cabs. They were repainted and put on scratch built frames and 20ft beds that raise and lower. I had an extra hopper left over from a previous project so I built a 20 ft pup to go with the crew. This set has been done for quite a while but I still need to put a set of tractor fab truck mirrors on them. I have them posed here with A-frame combine trailers but no combines. I have envisioned this crew with a pair of New Holland TR-85s to match the yellow on the trucks or IH 1480s in keeping with the International theme. Anyway, enjoy.
Second is a 4300 Eagle that I repainted and put on a DCP chassis that I stretched a bit. It has tractor fab mirrors, plenty of fuel capacity, DCP stacks and a headache rack. I also added a motor under the hood. Turned out pretty good in my opinion and I like the paint scheme. It was inspired by the first pic. I would have like to add the orange but the first try on the striping didn’t go so well and the orange I had wasn’t that great so I just stayed with the cream and ‘georgia clay’ reddish brown. I also threw some paint on an old ertl trailer to match. This is the second IH 4300 that I have redone.
Also thought Id throw in this trailer. it’s just a repaint of the matchbox bottom dump that comes with a Ford cab over. I just put new wheels on it, added the rear bumper, and painted it. Looks alright to me.
Thanks for looking. Questions & comments welcomed.
