Seeding up here is JUST getting underway, I drove from Saskatoon to Regina today (250km or 150miles) and I only saw three seeders going and aside from the fields they were in there wasn't another field even touched yet. Some farms have the airseeder at the shop but a lot the combine is still parked there from last fall, the airseeder (or other seeder) is still parked in the grass. Field work is probably a week or two late this year depending on where in the province. There is still snowbanks on north slops and on the north side of treelines. I think some of the bigger guys are getting a little antsy to get something in the ground. Another week or two there should be dust every few miles, hopefully there is more happening when I go to Swift Current in 3 weeks. This rig (Flexicoil & Case) made one round around a 80acre field and that was it. This big Bourgault rig (I am guessing a 75'er with a 6700 tank and Trippled up Case IH) had probably been going for a couple hours, he was parked at the shop when I went down in the morning. His partner was just leaving the yard when I went by. I did spot this monster at a CIH dealer, looks like it should be field ready this week.

It's a Degelman rock digger, they also make a rock digger that mounts on a tractor blade. In our side of the province nobody is really moving yet, I just took my welder to Lloydminster today and only saw one tractor in the field.

We'll be out starting on the canola probably tomorrow. Which means sometime around 2-3pm today we'll run out of patience and make a couple passes to make sure the drill's calibrated and ready to hit it hard the rest of the week.
Word is there was 1 outfit moving yesterday between Moose Jaw and Assiniboia. A buddy of mine who's organic had over 400 acres of preworking done by last thursday when I last talked to him......I called him names... ;D
