Looks good, I wondered what that plant looked like. I'm surprised you didn't see any New Hollands being built there as well. Or they in a different part of the complex? Since that was originally the New Holland factory area. I toured the CIH plant years ago when the East Moline Plant was still going. And the 2388s was rolling out of there. When they moved they really gained the space to build. Since the old Moline plant the 2388 would almost touch the rafters. And they had no room to make bigger combines. Which explains why over many years they didn't grow much past the 200 bushel bin capacity. Where the other brands was way past that mark. When they joined New Holland production moved to where it is now.

I don't know what series. But going by what I saw at the Deere plant. Mainly the ones 150HP+. I guess the CIH Steigers are built there too. Not fully sure on this. As the rest that is smaller are built over seas. And shipped back here.

New holland combines get built in either grand island new york i think it is i can't remember what state. Or europe. The thing that surprised me is that they don't make the CIH swathers there but the NH swathers that's kinda odd i think. Dad also said that they make a certain number of bale pickers in a year. There is a season for them tho.

I am kind of surprised to see that they loaded a train there. The guy who went with us when we drove the combine out to the "parking lot" said that they had built the loading dock a few years before that and only used it once or twice. That tour is definitely something to do if you are ever in the area. I went last year to see my B-I-L's combines being built and it was well worth the trip. The factory is terrible for getting good pictures though, I think i deleted half the ones I took because they were blurry. About 80% of the factory is devoted to the combines. The other 20% is used for swathers and at 2 times during the year they move all of the swather stuff out and build bale wagons. New Holland Combines are built in grand island as well although there are very few built there. I think that most if not all of the CIH combines are built at grand island and then shipped around the world. The New Holland combines built there are for the US, Australia, and maybe south america as well. There is also a combine plant somewhere in Europe that does all of their New Holland combines. We went in late summer and they happened to be building the Bale wagons at that point although we were on a limited time schedule and didnt have time to venture over into that part of the factory. I think there were 2 or 3 C New Hollands built the day that we were there, this is one

The Grand Island plant, does them both. They come down the same line. Just like the Agco combine plant in Hesston. They build both Massey and Gleaner on that same plant assembly line. Just that CIH has a bigger market share compared to NH. Which is why you see more CIH combines rolling down the line. This tells little about the plant. www.cnh.com/Careers/content/north_america/grand_island.htm

Dad's planning on taking all the hired help up there when we get a chance. I've been to the Hesston and John Deere factories, but never to Grand Island. Trey

Very well could be one of ours but i highly doubt it since that this was in March they may of been made by them. But they are all red so you wouldn't know without going up and check the serial number. Dallas
