Overkill on a hay rake

I got the 1944 John Deere LA running. With a good bit of gas still in the tank from running him last year. It was starting to die out. So what better way to get some that out of him. By putting him to work.

It was fun on this old boy raking. Slow though since you rake in 2nd gear. He only has 3 forward speeds. Got a nice work out for him. I bet you won't see this often!

I restored him several years ago. I keep him in a shed. He gets out to play at times. It sat outside at least 10-15 years. I had to go through about everything on that tractor. Engine, steering gear box, transmission, rear drive train, and radiator.

He won't be doing the other fields. As I have to take him on the road. I'm not going to do that. Since he is so slow. I will be lucky not be killed by the drivers.
