Here in West Central Minnesota, we had a late start to our spring like many others have. Usually we start in mid April with spring wheat, but did not turn any wheels until May 2. I took some time off from my job to work in the fields.
My brother was on the TW 10 running the fertilizer spreader.
My brother likes to get too close to the mud.
I was on the 9700 and field cultivator, though the live action pictures are of my dad driving.
On my last day of vacation, we started planting wheat. We usually run the TW 10 on the drill, but sometimes the 9700 will fill in. Last year we finished wheat around April 15 and didn't start planting until May 4.
The following week we worked on planting corn. We finished that up May 15; which is about 10 days later than normal. We have the TW 10 on our 6 row planter. It is a bit of an unique planter. The bar was built by Hiniker and uses Kinze row units. It originally had a bunch of other stuff on the front to use for ridge till planting.
Immediately after corn planting we moved into soybeans. We plant some of our beans conventionally with the grain drill and some no till with our corn planter. We started around May 17 and just finished up on June 6 with a few low spots that may or may not get done. I was home for the day on May 19 to finish up with the grain drilling. We had the 9700 on the drill as the TW 10 was on the sprayer spraying burndown on some of our no till.
