lol if you have read my earlier post of "welcome to the farm" you may have seen we run ih and ford tractors, there were 2 green pieces on the farm and thats only because jd has a heck of a planter and we already had the corn head...lol but there aint no excuse for this one... its a 1977 jd 4430 quad range syncro shift she has 5800hrs. we had ben talking about getting a new tractor for bushogging well we needed something bigger to pull anything at any moment so we seen this for auction and jumped on it mostly cause of the cab with AIR something never heard of on the farm...lol although it aint fwa she is nice, got er for 11,000 we were the only ones to bid on it, if anyone asks tho we are supposed to say we only bought it cause resale value is higher. she ought to run right now lol thanks for looking, right now we cant use it cause it has the stupid scvs on it and nobody has any adapters in stock, jd tried to tell us they didnt make one but, nh had them on back order...lol coments questions are welcome

Gonna have to put some weights on her. They are pretty light in the front.

Nice 4430. I think it'll work good on a mower. My neighbor used one on a JD 7200 16 row planter (even though it didn't work very good lol)

I would say you did darn good. That is a good price for a 4430. They are darn good tractors.

Good looking 4430 there. You got a good deal on that price. Those are darn good tractors. And your right, they really hold value. Compare them to other brands of that size. They won't even come close to the value of a Deere.

5800hrs for $11,000? That is tremendous deal for that clean of a tractor. Wish I could stumble across a deal like that. That's a $18,000 tractor up here easy, if it were a 4440 it'd be a $25,000 tractor. Shoot... it'd be that much if it had 9-10,000 hrs up here. Guys go nuts for sound guards, and especially the 40 series tractors.

Wayne said he been offered about 20 grand for his 4430 on several occasions. And it has around 7000-8000 hours on it last time I saw it. His is still in good shape even though he last painted and restored it back in the mid 90s. He said that tractor been a darn good one. Has yet to be in the shop for a major breakdown. Still on original clutch too. Now the tractor makes a living pulling the grain drill.

I enjoy driving our 4230. I'd agree with the weights, they are VERY light on the front. Either that or get used to doing wheelies all the time. Trey
