February 02, 2011 - New Holland Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Self-Propelled Forage Harvester
NEW HOLLAND, PA -- In 1961, New Holland transformed its pull-type forage harvester into a highly productive self-propelled unit with its own engine and controls. "Since then, New Holland has revolutionized the forage industry with self-propelled forage harvesters that enable farmers and contractors to increase productivity, quality, efficiency, safety and driving comfort," says Mike Cornman, Hay & Forage Marketing Manager. "We've included the latest state-of-the-art innovations as standard equipment on the special limited edition of New Holland's FR9000 Series, which we're producing in 2011 to celebrate the 50th anniversary New Holland's first self-propelled forage harvester:"
The anniversary edition of New Holland's FR9000 Series self-propelled forage harvesters includes:
MetalocTM - System detects ferrous metal objects in the forage and instantly stops the feedrolls; active protection for the machine and for livestock.
Adjust-O-MaticTM - System sharpens knives and automatically regulates the knife-to-shearbar clearance; better fodder quality and reduced power and fuel requirements.
VariflowTM Crop Accelerator - System quickly adapts the blower position versus the cutterhead in relation to the use of the crop processor.
Power CruiseTM II - System adapts the engine speed and ground speed in relation to the crop load, resulting in fuel savings of up to 15 percent on the field and up to 20 percent on the road.
IntelliFillTM - System with 3D camera for automatic trailer filling that won the 2010 EIMA Innovation Award and a Gold Medal at Agritechnica 2009.
IntelliViewTM III touchscreen monitor and CommandGripTM multifunction handle - Maximum intuition and simplicity of operation, now also adopted on new tractors in the New Holland T7 and T8 Series.
HydroLocTM - Feed roll drive system provides instant and on-the move chop length adjustment to suit specific requirements.
Double Drive - Independent header speed adjustment particularly useful for large heads in demanding crop conditions. The attachment speed can be adapted independently from the feed rolls optimizing crop cutting and collection.
Produced in a limited run of 50 units worldwide, the anniversary model features eye-catching commemorative decals, black accents, a chrome exhaust, luxury seat and leather steering wheel. This custom-built model is intended for users who want an exclusive machine that symbolizes New Holland's excellence in the field of self-propelled forage harvesters. The anniversary edition will be unveiled in North America at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, Calif. in February 2011.
