Always wanted to make this type of trailer so here is the prototype. The scissor hoist is not good. Thought I had what would work and not so much. Also, I used DCP trailer frame pieces spliced together with brass tube. Worked only OK, not as clean as I would like and too much work. Next pair will have a solid brass frame.

Used Daytons on one, Buds on the other. I like the Buds better. Also a couple other projects I am working on at the bottom.

Comments welcome.

Below I have an L9000 I started for myself some time ago. ERTL cab on a DCP frame. I wanted an Omaha Standard or Knaphied stake type bed on it so the prototype is setting on it. Don't think I will keep this bed and will make another. Next is a SpecCast 385 Pete that will be a gin pole truck. Swapped out the wheels for DCP and am working on the bed. Will get custom paint, new bumper and other stuff. This will be a for a customer that owns a big oil company and runs 385 Pete T800 KWs.

Think there about that long. But those look cool.

I started out with a container trailer with spread axle. Was not happy with the way it was going so I started cobbling it together.
