Its new to us. Came from Carlinville IL, bout 2 1/2 hours away. The 1981 IH 5288's days were numbered. Not a fan is all I'm saying. It had 6200 hours, little over a 1K on a reman engine. New PTO shaft and clutch (540 and 1000) and new rear tires. Traded on a 1994 New Holland 8670 with 4,850 hours. This tractor was owned by a dairy farmer, all his ground was together and it never saw the road for that fact. Thought that was interesting. Its a one owner machine. He used it for tillage, silage chopping and big square baling. It has mega flow hydraulics and supersteer. We are putting a quick tach loader on it and plan to use it for medium duty field/yard work (mowing, baling, sidedressing, vac, auger, rarly the planter if the 4650 goes down) We got 14K trade in value for the 5288. The difference was 41K

Now that is one nice looking tractor. I wished we had one. Just a side note, that tractor is newer than 1994. In late 95/96, they started using the New Holland name on the side. In 94, they still used the Ford name only.

Nice I like the 1896 and 2390 Case in the back ground as well!

Nice buy there. A sweet upgrade over the IH. That was the last design of New Holland I like. After that they went to the current styling. And I don't like them one bit. I'm sure you will get a lot of good use out of him. I ran blues nearly all my life and really love the brand.

Glad to see some blue starting to creep into green and red territory! Nice looking tractor, I personally love this series and is my favourite NH tractor design. I'm sure that it'll be working on your yard for years to come.

Thats a nice tractor you got there, we had a New Holland 8870 with supersteer, there are very fuel efficient tractors, and for advice do not buy the NH 7514 quick tach loader, they are no good, in my opinion
