we have split almost ever antique tractor at home here and a few others but other wise did you put a new fly wheel in it

In the 3rd picture behind the shaft, there is a part with 6 gears that spins around the shaft (I assume its low range and high range). The O rings in it needed replacing.

Ive walked between all the tractors on the farm lol most for clutches but some where more serious lol

Yep splitting one is a job. I done several in my time. Mainly for clutches and seals. It wouldn't hurt to replace the engine crank seal and transmission seals where the clutch goes. Since you got it down that far. I usually do.

I've seen a 1086 split in half. not a deere though. BOZ btw. I sell propane and propane accessories. lol

Seeing an 86 series in half is a very common occurrence. LOL You don't see that with a Deere as much.

One for a clutch, and a few years later for the TA. So that one been in half on a few occasions. Most Deeres in my area hadn't been split. But that can happen. One farm had both the 4430 and 4440 in the shop in half. All in one year too.

Looks sharp, did you but new decals on? Because they look really sharp and crisp. And for a tractor of that size and age, those front tires are Huge!

Yes, we repainted everything we could get too and put new decals on. The front wheels are from a demco gravity wagon.

Nice. That is a slick looking rig. I like those front tires. They should handle the weight of the loader good.

ive only seen one tractor split, a 4440 but that was in the dealer
hey did john deere use a different color on the 40 seires than the 30 seires?
