Wheat Harvest 2011 (Part 1)

Well harvest came and went and it was a pretty good one. We started the 20th and got done on the 31st of July. It wasn't quite as good as anyone expected, test weight was terrible, all below 58. Yields averaged 52 here on our home place and 35 up at our other farm north of town. The best field of ours made 75 dryland but we cut a field for another guy that made 85 dryland. We were fighting green straw the whole first half of harvest which was strange because we never had a problem with moisture being too high, it was a strange harvest in this manner which i guess comes with the wet year we have been having. Anyways on with the pictures (I also got a couple good pictures of some crews you guys might be familiar with).

This first group of pictures was taken by my mom and sister.




Dad pulled out to dump and let me by. The R52 auger doesn't give enough clearance to comfortably unload on the go with that cart.










As you can see im dang near full.

Thanks everyone for the comments im glad ya like the pictures.

Southern - This is the third year with the 62 and we couldn't be happier. That thing has by far passed our expectations. Every harvest we are impressed with it's capacity and durability because out of the 3 years we have ran it it has only broke down once at harvest for a broken oil line which turned out to be a very easy fix. The capacity was far more than what we expected to have when we got it, its been a perfect machine for us.
