I finished the alfalfa tonight. Dad was raking with the 730 and the New Holland and I was baling. Took a pic while I was twining a bale. Video of baling from in the 4020. www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_kDYVK8XzsOnce I got the baling done it was back on the swather. I made a couple rounds around the cane patch to try it out.

Yep about that time for our 2nd cutting. Dad was talking about it as well.

We always put ours in early so it will be ready to go in August. Once it heads out I cut it. That way we can get a good stand of regrowth that we can graze after it freezes down. It wasn't really going to grow much more anyway. That place where I took the pic is pretty poor ground so it was really short. Down in the bottom it is a good 8 feet tall.

Looks pretty good, I'd sure like to take a look at a cane field some day. Never seen the stuff before, very interesting.

I will try and get some better pics tomorrow. That stuff in my pic is really short.

Have you cut any of the tall cane with the hydroswing yet?

Not yet. That is going to be my afternoon project. I have my camera with me so I will try and get some pics. I hope it isn't too tangled because it all got flattened in a wind storm about a month ago. It has stood back up pretty well though. I guess we will see how it does in a few hours.
