I recently bought 2 new tractors. The Vintage Iron IH 1206 Wheatland Edition with cab and FWA and the 2011 Farm Show Case IH Magnum 315?
Should I open these tractors or keep them in the box? This is the first time I have bought these special tractors before?
Thanks Guys, Ty

It really depends. If you want to use them in display. Go on and open. If you like keep the box in case you end up selling them later. And while on display, try to keep them in good shape. I used a lot of "Special" equipment on my displays. That was show editions, collectors editions, etc.

It's up to you. If someone really wants it in the future they will take it in any condition. For instance, I have been looking for the 8950 and 7250 1/64, FWA tractors and have never found one but I would take one if it was beat to heck. Just my 2 cents Landon

Well you have to determine deep down if you are going to collect them for future sale or enjoy them. If you open it up, bam, down goes the value. On the other hand, my brother and I debated this question for years. Back in the day I use to buy two of each. One to open one to go in the tote. The other day I went through my tote and thought...I have been storing these "treasures" for 10 plus years and never look at them...whats the point? to resell them and make a "massive" profit? Nah, I cant resell them, I like them too much. One by one over time, I have been taking them out of the package or leaving them in the tote. I dont put any in the tote anymore. I just ordered a FS MTX315 and a STX 600, both are coming out of the box. I figure, I will let the next guy who keeps in them in the box have his go up in value. Good luck with your decision. If you take them out, take some pictures and post them on the forum

I have now learned that when you buy something you buy two of them one for the display and one to keep in the box.

I have now learned that when you buy something you buy two of them one for the display and one to keep in the box. the problem is when everyone does that nothing in the box is rare and becomes extremely valuable. It's not a bad idea if you want to do it, just don't plan on retiring from selling your collection.
