I thought I would show off a truck in my collection. This truck is something special to me. For one it is based off my home town trucking company. All my childhood up to the early 1990s. I would see these rolling past my house. Since my home is on a main road, and one of their main routes to the mountains. Everyone around here knew who they was. And they was one of the backbones of my home town. In the early 1990s, they was bought out by ABF. And they shut down the site here in my town. Only a few buildings remain of this great company. However a museum is there for those to see and remember. I got this truck as a memory of this proud trucking company. DCP and Carolina Freight museum did a fine job replicating one of their trucks. The Real Carolina Freight truck: The Toy: They added a few features on the toy. The air foil which was one of Carolina's trademark use. Nearly all their trucks from the 70s to the end had this. The other is the color scheme with black mirrors. They mainly used dry and refer trailers. On the dry the words on the trailer was regular lettering. But on the refers, you can see ice hanging off the lettering. Another trade mark by the company. So even on the refer they added that. DCP made my home trucking company proud. This truck will be part of my display come 2012. To haul my produce to market. As I will venture into some produce growing.
