Looks to be a little muddy to be disking. Around here you wouldn't disk being wet like that. You will make prehistoric concrete.

Magnum 7240- No it was not, we bought it from Titan outlet store in Grundy Center, IA
Southern- It was a little bit, but the thing about this farm is that it is already wet and it takes awhile to drain.
Thanks guys Landon

Yeah I know what you mean about draining off. Some fields here with bottoms usually stay wetter than the rest. You need good driving skills to go through with 2WD and not get stuck. Since fwas and 4WDs are not really used around here.
Our fields usually have red clay in the mixture. That is why it can dry hard as concrete after you till it or go through it. I have seen it so hard even a plow has a hard time breaking it up. And even then it will come apart as chunks.

I have seen it so hard even a plow has a hard time breaking it up. And even then it will come apart as chunks. We got that kinda trouble around here. Lancster county is known for it's good farming dirt, but in my area it a bunch of hills, and if your in the lowlands, then it's unlikely it's going to be great for farming. Our little plot has the red clay dirt and we had trouble with water draining. There was a nice little hole below it, so we dug drinage ditches on each side and made a levee to hold some water back and it helped tremendously. Lots of guys around here have older tractors with 2WD, but usually we don't have trouble with getting stuck.
