I built this 8 row rigid 3 point hitch model 7200 JD planter for our farm manager this spring. I customized a 4440 JD with a front tank and Moore's 3 point hitch to pull the planter. The equipment matches what he uses on the farm. [/img] i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd409/trrouse/117.jpg"] I built this 8 row rigid stip till with integrated JD planter earlier this year. The planter is pulled by a JD 8330 with a Moore's front tank and 3 pt hitch. The planter boxes are C&D boxes that I painted in JD livery. The lift assist wheels are off of the wings of a field cultivator that I cut down to 30' width. This is my most ambitious scratch project to date. I wish I had placed the planter tool bar a little closer to the tillage tools. Maybe next time!

Awesome planter. That second one looks really nice. Are those C&D planter units on the last one?

Wow! Those are really nice. Were these difficult projects, as in take long & agonizing work?

Austin, the tractor is a JD 8330.
Steiger, the row units are from C&D. You can still buy them from the tumbleweed farm toys store on ebay. They also have a no-till version of the row units that have row cleaners instead of the front disc openers.

Are those closing wheels following the tillage aspect of the rig? That is definitely a one of a kind. Looks great!!!

Case, those are not closing wheels ahead of the planter. They're coulters for tillage. The idea is based on unverferth and KMC's strip till machine. I just didn't have a way to do the rolling baskets. Maybe I'll cut off the front planter disks and do that I some point, but I think it's ok as is.
