Looks like that bale was close to catching fire. Did they smell pretty strong?

Looks like that bale was close to catching fire. Did they smell pretty strong? i baled this hay on the 4th of july at midnight because it was soooooo wet and then soooooo dry all in the span of about a day and a half. they have been in the hay barn since july, and were in the middle of the row and i just got to them now, i don't think they were wet enough to burn up.
