Mega Planter: DONE

Yes, I have finally completed it and I have had enough with this project. This thing started out in Sep 2010 and has been a long, expensive journey. Enjoy!

You all cannot believe how relieved I am to get this project done. This thing took, way too long.

I learned a great deal of the hobby by building it and other side projects along the way. My joints are still too large for scale but are much smaller than when I first started.



Essentially its a CaseIH 1260 that heavily modded. Hence I would say its a model 1262.





Tried my hand at handrails.







I would estimate I have close to $300 in parts, 300-500 hours, 500 pieces into it.



Yes for $300, I do have a lot of extra parts. As from a previous posting several Cycle planters were sacrifices for this project.



48 Rows at roughly 124 scale ft wide


In comparison to my 1240 planter.

Especially Mark, I was about to ditch the project and he encouraged me to finish it, heck that was 6 months ago.

Wow that is one serious piece of equipment!! I'm really impressed with the details you added, all the hoses, hand rails, hydraulics etc... very nice job. Who cares if the joints are outta scale, the fact that you went to all the effort of making it fold up and raise/lower to the degree you did is far more impressive than what size of material you used and what not.

Glad to see you finished it. I know the feeling well, finishing a long term project that was once on the verge of being shelved. The feeling of being finished it finally is great isn't it?

Do you have pictures of your other completed mega equipment? The in "concept" equipment sounds good. If they turn out like your planter, they should be pretty cool looking. I hope you add a fuel tanker to keep that mega tractor going, if its built.
