They do the same thing on my wife's farm with the DMI subsoiler and then plant cotton over the top with no other tillage. The only difference is that they run the rippers at a shallow angle across the fields, not in exactly the same path as the rows will be planted. Those rippers sure take a lot of power to run, and the points get expensive. I also made the mistake of touching one of the points after it came out of the field. That's a mistake you only make once!

This first year we our trying there was other guy did last year and put drip tape on it and cut over 200b wich is pretty high here
