We have owned the 8650 for 27 years this spring. With different purchases being made on the farm this year, Dad decided it would be best to trade her off. I rode in that tractor ever since I was in diapers. I remember taking a couple toys with me and replicating whatever that tractor was doing on the floor mat. It has seen alot of change also. The 8650 has gone through numerous acreage changes, farm breakups, and farm techniques, but it has always found a spot. We ran it with it's twin until 1990, when our then partner split from the operation and took it. In 1992 we bought the Degelman blad for it. I learned how to drive a tractor in it when I was 8. Hopefully it goes to a good owner. I waxed her up last night, she looks about the best she ever has while I've been around. Lol The blade is off of it too. We will try to sell it seperately. Our tractor lineup for this year- 9330- Starfire,PTO,3pt,2100 hrs 8360R-Active Seat, Itech Pro, 930 hrs 8410- Outback S2, 4900 hrs 8100-840 Loader, Outback S2 hookups, 6700 hrs We are hoping to sometime put the loader on the 8410 and sell the 8100. Or just buy a new loader and sell the 81' outright. Trey

Always sad to see a long time workhorse head down the road, especially when you've never know life without it. I can relate. Too bad it didn't fit into the farm anymore, looks like it's got plenty of life left in it.

Trey its always hard to let go. What are you getting in return for it? 8360R? At the beginning of the year, the plan was to trade the 9330 for it. After some other issues that came up and some extra custom work offered, we decided to trade to remaining 12 row and the 8650 for the 8360R. Clayton- I really don't have much of a choice. I didn't think he'd ever get rid of it so I was kind of surprised. My neighbor has one identical to it so I guess I'll have to get a job with him. haha Trey

Its a shame you had to get rid of the old girl! I am sure she has a lot of life left in her. You really took Great care of that 8650 Deere! Hopefully it goes to a good owner who will take just as good of care of it. None the less, the 8360R is a pretty nice tractor and should suit your operation really well.
Are you guys going to upgrade to an S series Deere combine in a yr or 2?

We would like to upgrade our 9760 to a 9770 or 9870 next year. Both the 9870 and 9760 are in really good shape though yet. Last year, our 9870 cost us more in parts then the 9760 did. ha Out of 3 hydrostats to go out on them in the states, we had one of them... Trey

Awesome looking old tractor, I think we still run about 2 on our farm for pulling a field cultivator in the spring. Only the older class will drive them and nothing else aroun the farm.

That is a nice 8650, too bad you guys have to let it go. What dealer is it going to and how many hours does it have? If we weren't almost completely no-till now it would be nice to have.

It's hard to see old friends go like that. It broke my heart when the old 4230 that had been on the farm since I was a little boy got traded in.
