I got a new tractor on Saturday. It is a 1966 806. Its main duty will be pulling the swather. It seems to be in pretty decent shape. It starts and runs really good. It needs a few small odds and ends fixed on it. I am looking forward to trying it out.

Beautiful tractor Clayton.
There's something about those old Farmalls...

That thing looks awesome and I like the redneck weight bracket in the front and the Canopy top is awesome. Do you need much horsepower to run a swather. It can't be like a hay rake where you go. Must need some PTO power but not too much?

Nice old tractor, yeah I'm shocked to see you with an IH. They are good tractors and a good price as well. You can get an IH lot cheaper than a Deere, where Deere really holds the value. I love the 06 and 56 series. The 66s is the most common. Just stay away from the IH cabs on the 56s and later models. They are pure junk.

Good to see that you've become more culturally diverse. Still got the 4020 around? Is the 806 a gas or diesel?

It is a diesel. The 4020 is still around. I just wanted to have another tractor to swath so the 4020 could stay on the baler.

I see your doing what most do around here. One for mowing, one for raking, and one for baling. So you won't have to keep swapping around implements.
