They live! The Deere Quad-Track is real. ;D Found this on another site. Looks quite interesting. Appears they used the NH Smart-Tracks( or whatever you call them.)

Aghhhh yes I agree there racinfarmer, I never thought of that. But not nescicarrily I mean either you take like an 8 Series with tracks or the 9 with articulating. It may slow in some parts with the T/RT tractors but not much. Interesting to see what would happen in the future or to come about.

I honestly don't see it being much of a competition against themselves.
Like anything else these days, if you offer it someone will buy it. Besides, don't the Quadtracs have less ground impact when turning compared to the JDs & Cats?

Besides, don't the Quadtracs have less ground impact when turning compared to the JDs & Cats? It is competition with themselves. Wheels vs. tracks, yes, does have come inner competition, but if JD would offer that set up, then you have two track choices, and a wheel choice. A wheel choice and a track choice are fine, but having two track styles within a brand completing for business isn't business smart. Ford, GM, and Dodge should all be examples of that.

From what I have read CIH has an airtight patent on the Quad Track Agricultural tractor design. When it expires it will be interesting to see who else comes out with one. In mud nothing else can even touch them because of the 4 track articulated design over the two track "skid" steering design.

I thought I remember hearing for some time now that case's patent has expired........

Like Clayton said,Case IH has the rights to quad trac, if any other companies (like Deere) release these from factory, Case can go after them. It makes sense on Cases part because like mentioned, they have all the market. I'm sure Deere would have one out otherwise. And don't make comments about Case doing that, I've seen Deere patent a pin on the unload auger. Dallas

"internal Competition" or not they should at least offer it as a option, even if they don't make it a standard model.
There's no doubt that it would sell, and they honestly wouldn't loose money on it
