Yea I like the setup a lot, the only thing bad about it is that it takes a good couple hours to get it all set up with saddle tanks and everything. The corn isn't doing too bad, it would be nice to get a rain soon. This is the 18th day of no rain around here. The corn we planted around the 10th? of april is about knee high and is looking pretty darn good. Landon

Very nice pics, of an unfamiliar practice (to me). Really like the last one.
I think we've been hogging all your rain lately... lol. The taps been on for the last 3 days and nobody will turn it off. Getting pretty soggy on ground that was already water logged.

It looks like every other row is skipped. What's the story on that? All the rigs I've seen in my area have a knife or coulter in each row middle.

18 days without rail. LOL Try .2" since February. I have 200 acres of corn that has been in for around a month that hasn't even sprouted

Kenny- I would like to get a pull type at some point but with as cheap as we threw this rig together we might as well keep running it. It looks like every other row is skipped. What's the story on that? All the rigs I've seen in my area have a knife or coulter in each row middle. There are a couple reasons. 1. It's cheaper that way only having to replace 6 coulters instead of 12. 2. Study's have shown that it doesn't matter if its in every row or every other because its gonna get to corn plants on either side. It is also possible to apply N in every other row instead of every row without negatively impacting yield, because every row will have N applied on one side or the other. Of course, the outside injectors should deliver half the rate since the injector will pass between those rows twice. bulletin.ipm.illinois.edu/article.php?id=920TwoTone- That sucks man, I hope you guys can get some rain out your way. Thanks for the explanation Landon. That makes a lot of sense.
