Well it has been business as usual around the farm. Feeding the cows and taking care of the calves everyday. The Minkler Ag boys have been busy putting on dry fertilizer and they started spraying some wheat. When it isn't too windy that is. There was a kinze 16 row planter with the split row option on a farm sale in Iowa. One of our truck drivers was up in the area so I had him take some pictures and look it over good. It was an internet auction so we decided to see if we could get it for a reasonable price. Well long story short we got it. Hutch took the lowboy up and got it. It has about 2000 acres on it but the price was right. Here he is pulling in with it.
We are probably going to sell the John Deere 16 row. It is the oldest and has covered the most ground. We haven't decided yet. We are going to use the Kinze to help with the soybeans. The CCS was getting spread pretty thin between milo, beans, and cane. Here it is getting unloaded.
We folded it out to look at it a little. Before we put it in the shop to check it over and get it ready to go.
As soon as we got it unloaded Hutch took off to go and get the floater for J&R Farms.
Here he is at their farm with their floater.
We have also been fixing ditches and terraces from the wet fall. We have the 535 on one of the scrapers.
We have also been hauling some hay home. That is probably about the last of the hay hauling for the winter. Here is the Mack and flatbed getting ready to go after another load. Mike is coming in after hauling his last load of fuel for the day also.
When Hutch was unloading the floater he found a leaky air bag on the trailer. When he got home he put his rig in the shop so it could be fixed. The planters are also in the shop getting ready. Corn planting will be here before we know it.
That is all for now. Questions and comments welcome.
