Full Swing Wheat Harvest

Well the guys here in Lancaster county have been busy making wheat even more now. Yesterday and today I helped out at a local farm making wheat shocks and loading them into 10 40 foot wagons which are then taken to the New Holland test farm so they can do winter testing with the combines. The wheat we didn't load into wagons was picked up by the John Deere 9500 combine to be used by the farmer himself. The crew did 4 wagons yesterday. Today since we had a whole bunch of immigrant workers come in we got the rest of the 6 wagons done. The tractors used for the job was a John Deere 4320 on the conveyor. The others were a JD 7320, 4630, 2 4440's and a JD 7210 for the wagon transport.

After coming home today I found a neighbor out with his JD 4420 combine, IH grain truck, JD 6410 on 1210A grain cart, and his baling rig.

That bale trailer looks like a cotton wagon you see down here. One neat way to stack up squares in to a trailer. Nice to see a 4420 combine still in use. There used to be about 2-3 of them down here. One was replaced a few years ago. And the other sold at auction several years ago. I hadn't saw that model in a while in my area now.

Do they take the trailers right to New Holland with the JohnDeere tractors.

Am I seeing this right, are they picking up windrows with a flex head?

Steelin~ Some of them, others are taken by a large pickup
Josh~ yep, those were the extras, no point and undoing all that string so we just took them through.
