Wrapped up the last of the peas Friday morning. Glad to be done with them for the year. Turned out to be not a bad crop, but definitly far from a bumper crop. Once again like the past couple years around this district, the pea plants were covered in some kind of nasty black dust which made combining annoying. The dust clung to everything and would get so bad on calm days you'd be getting out to clean the windows almost every hour, because you just couldn't see out of them. At least it was the black dust and not the white "powdery mildew" dust...... That stuff is extremely flammable. We know from experience.... Here's the pics from the last week of peas.
This is what 60bpa field peas look like..... unfortunately this is not representative of the entire crop..... This qtr averaged 40-45 bpa.
The black dust was sure annoying. Guarantied to get you grubby first thing everyday during morning servicing.
Flax turning pretty quick across the road.... Might just make my goal after all of being done harvest in time for the start of bird hunting season. ;D
