This Saturday was a beautiful day, highs in the upper 60's and not much wind. We had to put on some fertilizer on a couple hundred acres of wheat that we ran out of liquid fertilizer on while drilling and since liquid is higher priced then dry dad decided to just not get another tank of liquid and put on the dry now. We also put on some dry fertilizer on a couple fields that we are re cropping to wheat so they will have double fertilizer to make up for not letting the nutrients get back over the summer. Anyways, i got to do quite a bit of spreading, and i got a few pics. Dont laugh when you see what is pulling the spreader, yes it is very overpowered but dad wanted to use a tractor with duals since there were a few soft spots and at the moment the 4850 is the only one with duals on. I was spreading in a field next to the little pasture we put our cows that have calved out in and feed over the spring. Here you can see quite a few of them, there are about 150 in there. Well this beautiful weather in not even two days went to this..... This is currently what the weather is like, not to mention thats the exact same weather we had last Monday so this is our second blast in the past week, typical Nebraska weather....

Yuck. You can have that snow. We could use some rain though. I have a customer that pulls a spreader like that with a 4955. I don't think you are too overpowered.

yup, just like Kansas. If you dont like the weather just wait a couple hours, it'll change. Look at it this way, at least your getting some moisture.

You guys are really catching it. It is going to be a muddy mess when all that snow starts melting. The last time I looked they had pretty much taking us out of it. I don't think we are even going to get any rain now.

About the tractor, we've spread oodles with a 4490 Case 4wd out in Idaho. It's all we have, you know?
Bummer about the blizzard. Looks like we're fixing to be in the same boat tonight.
