I got this in the mail yesterday, the Versatile 1150 finally showed up. After been ordered for a year. This is my 2nd toy from this company the first was the vintage cattle trailer. The cattle trailer was good expect they failed to make it hook up to other trucks. So I had to cut out a good chunk of the trailer frame to fix. So lets see how they did on the 1150.
The box was nice and colorful. Showing pics of the real one, and some facts about it. Came in 2 plastic halves that held the tractor inside. Along with 2 foam pieces to keep it safe.
The tractor is very detailed that is for sure. Very comparable to the ones that did Big Bud and Rite. The grill is realistic, hood, and engine compartment. The cab is nice and detailed. Even the articulation area has cylinders. The back has a hitch for show and hydraulic outlets. The tires are very nice to give it traction. The paint and decals are very nice. Even tiny warning ones in different locations. Overall they did a very good job on details and recreating the Versatile 1150.
Now to the part that I don't like. The box said it's die-cast metal. However the way it feels and weighs its seems more like die-cast plastic. I had to tap several areas with my finger to make sure it was made of metal of some type. At first when I picked it up I thought they lied and said it was metal not plastic. There is no weight on this tractor at all. All of it is made of strips of metal or plastic. So there isn't any solid parts other than the rubber tires. Which explains why its a feather weight. I would be very careful handling as I doubt it can survive any falls of height.
Lasting thoughts. Its a very nice tractor for the ones who been wanting the Versatile 1150 in their collection or display. I don't think it was worth the around $50 price compared to the others I paid for about the same price. At least they had some weight/material in them and not so cheaply made. I will think really hard about buying products from this company again.
