Well now that I have a chance , I'll upload my harvest pictures.
We started harvesting our oats on July 31, that's the earliest we have ever started with oats, we hauled in all the oats accept for the first two fields. The oats averaged about 110bpa which is still very good. We had an 8ac pie shaped field that did 140bpa.
the old massey still going strong
i think its time to invest in a hopper topper
clouds rolling in over the neighbours diary. They decided not to take our straw this year, so we chopped it all
the old co-op was gonna be on the chopping block , this pic was for the kijiji ad that never happend
another massey bites the dust. we sold this along with a versatile 400 to the goat farmer in the area, it was his first combine he has ever bought, he was quite happy when he got his 30ac of barley harvested
the old "50" not in bad shape for having over 11000hrs
someone is getting new bins, not sure who as there are no farms along the river
the joys of it being dry, next year we might see a cart on this farm
Now on to spring wheat. the wheat did around 55bpa in the two fields we grew. now that the cwb is gone we will be getting back in to growing lots of wheat.
in this field we had one 1680 strait cutting while me and my cousin were picking up swaths right behind the swather
the deer checking out what was going on, they let me get within 20ft of them with the combine
canola time!the canola yeilded around 32bpa, if we would have got 1/2inch of rain and the tops would have filled out this would have been close to a 55bpa crop
did some tillage in the morning before the canola was ready
these versatiles will be going on kijiji later this fall, you can only work on equipment so much before it gets to you
the ford has been doing some heavy harrowing
more canola
would be nice to have a cart then the combines don't have to stop
the combine with the topper can make it to the trucks but the other two can't
the two jds parked till tomorrow morning
black gold
the dust just lingers
nice sunset picture
all done for the night
you can see down town winnipeg from one of our fields
nice little photo shoot
the massey might be gone next harvest
last swath of the last canola field
the next day we got a call from a neighbour asking if we could harvest his canola so we headed on over there
its a bit weird dumping into a single axle truck from dumping into a tri-axle and a super b
he also had a kenworth t600 tandem
the exhaust is a little bit low , it's only touching the stubble
you can tell its harvest with all the dust in the air
another neighbour, thats probably one of the ugliest homemade sprayers ever!
little dust
my uncle tilling that 8ac pie shaped field with the 9270
17 wing doing a training filght outside of winnipeg
tilling canola on the home farm
tilling the home farm a second time right after the first time
nice to see the RM is doing something for once
