Looks good, is that a 1660 or 1666? How many acres you cutting this year in corn?

Thanks for the comment, It is a 1660. Not sure if your meaning silage or corn but I'll give ya both . I helped the neighbor cut around 30-35 acres of silage and we'll be picking around 450 acres of corn and the same acres of beans. Landon

Enjoyed the pics, very interesting. Not familiar with chopping silage at all... so what kind of speed is an outfit like that chopping at.

Ok cool thanks for the answer. This helps me out as well when planning displays.
What is your yield looking like on the corn?

I'm still confused why wagons are so common in the midwest, when trucks are so easy to come by.. lol
Nice Pics! Trey

Putsie- In these pictures we were going around 5 MPH, a touch under in some cases.
Southern- Not a problem, the corn-on-corn acres are doing around 125-135 and the corn-on-bean ground is doing around 160.
Taz- We are located about halfway between Iowa Falls and Marshalltown in the Eldora and New Providence area if that helps ya.
Trey- The reason we like them so much is in wet years were actually able to get out of the fields unlike the neighbors. The other reason is that it's just me and my dad on 900 acres so that way we don't need a grain cart with no one to run it.
Thanks for the comments guys Landon

Farms here don't use gravity wagons. I only saw a couple of them. Most of the time we use dump trucks in the 5+ ton range.

Nice pics, its nice to see someone up and running around the country, most of our corn has a little green and the beans are about the same. A few of the larger operations were out this weekend cutting beans, and I also saw someone getting a brand new s660, but that's about it . we might be in the field in the next week or two. Time will tell.
