Dustin and I always have trouble comprehending the problem of having so much water that you have to drain it away. ;D ;D That is very seldom an issue here. We could use some rain.

At least you guys can be in the fields! We are so wet that even walking in the fields would make you sink. I dont care what you day about your 5288, it is a great looking tractor!

Chris how close to the river are you or is it just that the water table is that high by you? We have the same type of problems our farm is on clay which is about 2' down holding all the water on top. Also years ago we farmed land along the river by us that had water standing 4'-5' deep in the spring after melt off. had pumps running day and night to get the fields dry by planting time, So I feel your pain

Well this field is the only "bottom" ground we have so thats great! lol Its roughly 40 acres. not huge but it gets great yields. we are about 30-40 feet from the river. Last spring I parked our ole Cat 45 and supercoulter on a little ridge down by the river. well the lady that owns the ground called and said that our tractor was on an island! LOL Some more pics The river is in these trees. Its not huge but its purdy decent sized. (15' across at most parts and sometimes 20' wide)

I can't believe how dry it is getting here. We live on red clay land and my neighbor is going to start planting corn tomorrow. I will try and get some pictures he bought a new great plains corn planter last summer so i am looking foward to getting some pictures of that rig, oh yeah he pulls it with a Steiger Puma.

No we dont farm that far south. this is South River (south of North River LMAO) This is towards the head of it. It gets much bigger down by the Mississippi River.

we usually dont have that problem. But yesterday I was checkin fields and when I got to some of our bottom ground it was under 2ft of water. But these are on a 1/4 that has 100ac farmable and its all in 20 diff fields. Of course theres 3 creeks that wind through it. So I feel your pain
