Well Gents, I see we are breaking out with pullers. I have worked on three this year. 1 complete, 1 90% another at 50%.
This one started out as a 2011/2012 Ertl 1066 "Virginia" dualed/open station.
Let me tell ya, this is the perfect IH to mod for a puller. It strips easy, muffler, seat, front axle assembly, rear wheels. In 10 mins, its ready.
As some have told me, the first puller is the toughest but once you get it figured out, the next ones get easier.
It just so happens this is the not so nice side.
The rear wheelie bars and front weight brackets are designed by my brother Mark "Hamzer" Ham. I liked his design and copied them.
I did add forward support bars for the rear bars. Tires are from Bossens Implement. Brass, from hobby shops all over SoDak.
Here I added the front wheelie bars similar to a fellers on FaceBook.
I also used brass strip 1/8" wide as lower frame rail skirts.
Shot at the tachometer. #17 nail cut off inside 3/32"? aluminum tubing, with a piece of styrene as a base.
I did purchase a Moores Pulling Tractor kit($25). Let me tell you, I am glad I did. I came with the cage, chrome side panels, seat, fuel tank. It also comes with rear wheelie bars, steering wheel, weights.
The cage is pewter and soft to work with. It may have lead in it.
I used a lot of weights on it and could use more on the rear.
8 front, 6 middle, 2 on the back. If you go with that combo, you will need the Moores tractor kit plus the 11/12 pack of weights that they offer...sorry I don't have the part numbers.
As soon as my brother and I figure out the Testors Decal software, we will draw up some decals for the side panels.
Enjoy...Hambone
