Been looking to replace our old Gehl 4400 skid loader and this New Holland LX465 will do the job. Found it after my cousin and me went an hour and a half south of here to look at a lx485. Well the lx485 was whooped. Amazing what pictures can do for equipment. Ad said it only had 500hrs. Scratch that, more like 4000+ or a very rough 500hrs. The inside of the cab was starting to rot out, They started to sand and repaint the lower half of the machine (Horrible job). cylinders had 1/2inch. or better of play in them. Funny thing was the kid that came out again and asked us if we wanted to take it out back and try it out in a pile of gravel. My cousin says thats alright. Kid goes,"Is that a good alright or a bad alright". Cousin says," Thats a I'm going to my truck alright and leaving". Kid,"Oh..." Lol. So after Arby's we went over to our local New Holland dealer (15min from home) to see his dad and the previous owner (Fred) of the dealership. He sold the business to another New Holland dealer after 49yrs. of ownership. Still owns the lot though, Fred and my uncle were cleaning up alot of miscellaneous farm equipment. When we arrived my uncle said that this LX465 was for sale. Real clean machine. Was surprised when the tach said it only had 258hrs. But Fred said that wasn't right. Said when the fuel gauge quit and you gotta replace the entire display. Has 2498hrs but was a hell of alot nicer then that lx485 and for $500 more it was worth it. After he had it serviced by the new owners he dropped it off for us to try it out. Going from running the neighbors (caseihman94) Case 1840 to this was quite the change. Used to all hand controls, Not hand controls and foot pedal's. Was weird, Lol. Well I played with it for an hour moving 23ton of lime and I was pleased with its performance. Paid for it today and Fred said he get us a Manual and a new seat for it. Now to just find a set of pallet forks for it
