My friend Mike swapped out the transmission and rear end on his 7520. His has been developing some serious issues over the last year or so. Last winter he bought a 7520 with a bad engine on a sale for 1200 dollars for the rear end. Last week he was putting on dry fertilizer with his 7520 and he lost all his high range gears and the bad noises got worse. Since we finally got some rain he brought it home to swap the rear ends out. He just unpinned the old one and rolled it out and rolled the new one in. He said the new one shifts better than the old one has since he owned it. Now he just has to switch his tires around so he can get back to spreading when it drys out. Here it is in the shed.
Here is the old rear end. He has to take the good tires off of it yet and put on the other one. Then put his duals back on. His old duals are better than the ones that are on the new rear end.
Here is the donor 7520. It has some pretty good tires on it that he is either going to put on his 7520 or his 4020. He hadn't decided yet.
Here he is backed up to the other shed so he can swap the tires around.
Makin smoke.
Here is the 4020. I was on hoist duty. Moving the rear ends around.
This is his dozer for the 7520.
His field cultivator. It doesn't see much use since he went no till.
This is his Freighshaker and cattle trailer.
This is his fertilizer spreader. It is an old Sunflower air seeder. It works pretty good for putting on dry fertilizer. They just took the openers off and let it blow the fertilizer out the hoses. I wish it would have been a little lighter out. My pics aren't very good.
This is my friend Ben's M that he keeps out there.
This is Mike's 730 diesel pony start. Mike uses it to feed cattle every day.
Questions and comments welcome.
