Saw this on Agtalk and figured I would bring this up over here.
Its a 1991 John Deere 4455 FWA with get this..... ONLY 33 hours!!! on the clock. It sold for $155,000 to a farmer down in Mexico, that plans to use it on his operation down there. Listning to Machinery Petes comments, the farmer plans to put 3,000 hrs a yr on this tractor.

Not sure about streching out the break in period for the engine over 20+ years, but imagine it will need some work... Maybe.
Apparently some doctor bought this tractor new in 1991 to work on a hobby farm or something. That did not work out, so it sat for the last 20 years. Go figure.

I would also like to know what the fellow from Canada would have done with it. For those who didn't watch the video, he offered 175,000 in cash and flew down in a private jet...

The doctor bought it new and sold it to Willow Run Farms of NY a little bit later. They then never used it and kept it. Now they are selling a bunch of stuff. They have a bunch of 3020's, 4020's, 4620's and things like this and some newer. They got some of the coolest and best equipment I've ever seen. Pity, it went to such a place. Wish, the other guy would've bought it. If I had the money I sure would have. I'm surprised someone else like Keller's, Kinzenbaw or even Deere bought it. Deere have about 8 low houred tractors just like this one. Kinzenbaw has the low-houred 4440 with barley even 100 hours on it.

Yeah, it is too bad that such a nice tractor is going to a place where its going to be run into the ground and abused. For the price it sold for, the buyer could have gotten into an 8X10, 8X20 or 8X30 series Deere.
Should trade the buyer the Chip Foose 4020 for the 4455!

Thats like the 4960 with 3300 hrs sold for 114k.

There is a local muesum with plenty of trucks and tracotrs with 50 hours or less
